About

Cows ‘n Cabs is celebrating its 12th year!

In its inaugural year in 2011, Cows ‘n Cabs welcomed just over 300 attendees. The event featured 14 restaurants and 16 wine and beer tables, raising over $30,000 for local charities. By 2023, the event grew significantly, attracting over 3,000 guests, with more than 50 restaurants and 90 different wine, beer, and spirits vendors. Last year's event raised over ONE MILLION dollars for community charities.

Cows ‘n Cabs was co-founded by Dave & Tina Larue and John Rivers. The Larue’s and River’s conceptualized a charitable event, leveraging Dave's role at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits for beverages, Tina's organizational skills, and John's restaurant connections through the culinary world with his 4 Rivers Smokehouse.

Thirteen years and twelve Cows 'n Cabs events later, with a hiatus in 2020 due to the global pandemic, Tina Larue and Liz McGlamery lead the event. These two women have meticulously handled all the event details for the past four years, bringing the magic to life.

Fifty percent of the funds will be allocated to John Rivers' charity, 4Roots, while the remaining half will be distributed among local charitable organizations such as After-School All-Stars and Winter Park Day Nursery. The 2023 benefiting charities are listed below.
